CENTRALITY OF THE EMPTY TOMB
During the Easter season last year, I sat next to a CM&E (CHRISTmas and Easter Member) lady at one of the services at our church. After the service, she said, “May I ask you something?” I smiled and nodded. She asked, “What happened to the baby? I looked at her in puzzlement and asked, “What baby?” She replied, “You know: Baby JESUS, the one you people go ape over at CHRISTmas. You rejoice at HIS birth, and a few months later, you become absolutely ecstatic over his death as a man. How can you adore a baby so much, and then hate HIM so much when HE becomes a man?” I prayed for the rights words. Then I said to her that we glory in HIS death only because the tomb is empty.
