KOOP ON CHURCH ATTENDANCE
In C. Everett Koop’s autobiography there is one of the most simple and profound formulas for church attendance I have ever found. There is no doubt that his family life was as busy as any in our culture. He was a doctor, a surgeon who ran a hospital and, with the help of his wife, a home with four children. They had a desire to raise their children as Christians, and church attendance played an important part in that. Betty, his wife came up with the scheme. She, and I quote, “…maintained that no matter how busy we were, it was easier to go to church every Sunday than to choose which Sundays to go.” I like that!
