Rewritten Stanzas: And yet it is clear through the dark and the dusk, The fate of the world is riding with us; A voice in the darkness a knock at the door, And a Word that shall live for evermore! For, borne on the night-wind of the Past Through all our history, to the last, In the hour of darkness and peril and fear, We’ve a message to tell that the world must hear.
