NOW IS THE TIME FOR FRIENDS
How many friends do you have? Do you make friends easily? How far are you willing to go to make new friends or keep a friend you already have? I was recently riding the subway into Manhattan. I was on the N- train leaving Queensboro Plaza, heading for a lunch appointment with a new friend. I had half an hour to make it, so everything was fine. But then the train suddenly stopped in the tunnel under the East River. We sat there for about fifteen minutes. An announcement finally came over the public address system: “There’s a stalled train ahead of us; we’ll be moving shortly, as soon as they fix the train ahead.” But then another fifteen minutes went by, so now I was late for my lunch appointment, and everyone was getting a little impatient.
