TOO MUCH FAMILY
One of the chief causes for a negative attitude on the part of lay people is that the congregation has become almost like an extended family. They have grown to know and love each other so much that they feel extremely uncomfortable when an outsider penetrates their inner circle. Again this is often unconscious, but outsiders soon get the message that they are not fully welcome and they will not stay around the church very long under those conditions.
