IF HORSES WENT TO CHURCH
Henry Ward Beecher was in the market for a good horse. The owner of the horse described the horse: “This horse is a dependable horse. She is obedient. She’ll stay without even being hitched. She is gentle, yet full of spirit. She’ll never bite or kick. In fact, she has no bad traits at all.” Beecher was impressed and wistfully said, “I sure wish that horse was a member of my church.” Adapted from a submission by John Fitts
