GOD ALWAYS ALLOWS FOR GOOD
Pastor and theologian Richard Niebuhr was teaching a class and near the end of lecture he said: “Whatever comes into our lives, God allows for good.” In that same class was a student who, just a few weeks before, had been involved in a boating accident. The student lost his mother and father, his only sibling and his fiancee. He alone survived. There were those in the class who thought Dr. Niebuhr was either crazy or simply insensitive to the events of the past weeks. The lecture ended, and all the students stayed, expecting to see the grieving young man angrily accuse the professor of making such an insensitive theological statement. But what happened surprised them all. The student walked up to Dr. Niebhur, shook his hand, and said, “Thank you, sir.
