CONTROL OF HISTORY
When religious extremists claim they hear the voice of God, they are actually hearing the thunder of their own desires to shape history. Only God, who has conquered “the ruler of this world,” controls history. The man who killed Yitzhak Rabin and those who encouraged him were listening to a defeated power which is no longer in charge of this world, because it has been defeated by the gift of God’s love.
