The young daughter’s mother was gone for the evening, so the daughter was sitting in her mother’s chair and “playing mother” for her father and her brother. Her father watched this maternal performance with amusement, but her brother was annoyed. Her brother decided to challenge her authority by asking her a domestic question: “So, if you are Mother, how do you make beef stroganoff? The girl answered, “I am much too busy to answer your questions right now, young man. Ask your father.”
