THE MINISTER
Matt Dillon of television’s “Gunsmoke” once described his job this way: “I’m the marshal — the first man they look for and the last man they want to meet. It’s a chancy job, and it makes a man watchful… and a little bit lonely.” Dillon’s words fit the mood and perspective of many men who have pursued the calling and the responsibility of the pastorate. It is chancy — and it IS oftentimes a tad lonely.
