BAPTISMAL RECONSIDERATION
Wendell McClinton, Executive Director of the Gideons tells of his conversion and subsequent baptism during a speech given at the State Gideons Convention in Jackson, Mississippi on March 16, 1990. He tells of attending a community church in West Texas which alternated Baptist and Methodist preachers on a rotation basis. At the age of 13 he became concerned about the condition of his soul. It so happened that he responded to the salvation message of the Baptist preacher and was taken that afternoon to be baptized. He continues his story as follows: As fate would have it, in the hours after church, the weather changed and the temperature began to drop.
