ORIGINAL ORDERS
In both of Paul’s letters to his ‘son’, Timothy, there is a great stress laid upon the value of the gospel that had been entrusted to faithful men (1 Tim. 6:20; II Tim. 1:13-14). Because of the gospel’s great value (Romans 1:16), this trust has to be guarded very carefully. As people, we tend to care for things according to how much value those things possess in our eyes. My father was a fine college athlete. One of the ‘treasures’ of his college football career was his jersey that he was allowed to keep. Good ol’ number 32. My older brother and I loved to wear that jersey while we played sandlot games down at the corner field. We loved wearing it because of its uniqueness.
