WHAT’S UP WITH JONAH?
To Jonah God spoke up, /But the prophet then rose up,
And the wrong way was booked up.
When he wanted to rest up,
A big storm then blew up.
After Jonah was hunted up,
By lot he was pointed up.
The sailors were so shaken up
//That Jonah was picked up
And to the sea he was given up.
When the storm quickly cleared up,
The sailors then ‘fessed up.
In the seaweed all tangled up
On his life Jonah gave up
But to God finally ‘fessed up.
So in grace he was delivered up
By then being swallowed up
And finally raised up–
By the fish, being thrown up.
The result was he cheered up.
Now when the Lord spoke up,
This time Jonah got up
And made tracks to go up
To Nineveh to speak…
