NEED TO FORGIVE
The movie, “There was a Little Boy,” (1993, Cybill Shepherd, John Heard) is about a couple searching for their child kidnapped 15 years earlier when a new piece of evidence is found. They are searching some church records with an old woman helping when they come up with a possible name of the woman who stole the baby. The woman said to Cybill Shepherd, “When you find this woman will you forgive her?” Cybill, with a puzzled, somewhat hateful look on her face said, “Why would I do that?” The woman looked at Cybill with a slightly pathetic look and replied, “You don’t know why?” I don’t know what that woman meant for sure, but I can guess. What happens when we refuse to forgive? Who suffers? Everybody? I am sure of that. At the end of the movie the boy is found. He just happens to be a troubled teen with a very sick mother that Cybill has been working…
