WHAT BELONGS TO WHOM?
I have a teenage son, and I really do love him very much. I suspect he might become a better man than his father, if I let him live that long. You see, my son has made a grave error in judgment. Since the days when I was his age, I have longed for a pickup truck… a nice pickup truck… not a junker. Well, a few months ago, I finally fulfilled that longstanding dream. I bought a pretty little silver pickup with chrome mag wheels, and fancy wide tires with raised white letters, and air-conditioning, and all the trimmings. What has this got to do with my son? He thinks My pickup truck is HIS pickup truck! Just because I let him drive it on a regular basis, he tells everyone that it is “his” pickup truck. Everywhere he goes, its “My pickup this… and “My pickup that…” My son has never made a single payment on “his” pickup…
