SPRINGS OF GRATITUDE
Albert Scheitzer read Luke 17:12-19, the story of Christ’s healing of the lepers. Schweitzer suggested that the other nine were so overjoyed they ran to tell their families. They may have intended to come back later to thank the Lord. He had no doubt many such experiences in Africa. That is why he advised against joining the ranks of the bitter about ingratitude. Schweitzer said, “Remember, a great deal of water is flowing underground which never comes up as a spring.”
