A CONSTANT SOURCE OF GOOD STORIES
I make no apology for the fact that I find some of my best illustrations in the anecdotes of the Reader’s Digest. The trick is not using the current issue. Many times I have used a story from the most recent issue and I am greeted after church at the door with a knowing smile and, “I know where you got that story” as if, somehow, it were a guilty secret to be a reader of the Reader’s Digest. But I openly confess my habit. I save my old Reader’s Digests and thumb through them again a few years later and often unearth forgotten treasures. One I found recently was an illustration of righteousness made practical. The story is told by the wife.
