BURNING PEYOTE BRIDGES
We have a church among the Navajo Indians in Gamerco, New Mexico. Pastor Darrell Henson says that one night a Peyote man and his wife came to church and talked about some things that were on their hearts. Peyote men use the drug in their worship, and it is part of their culture. They became Christians after some discussion and came to church the next Sunday to publicly profess Jesus Christ as Savior. They attended church services regularly for about six weeks, having to travel some twenty-five miles one way just to attend services. Then suddenly they did not come for about two weeks. One week later they returned on a Wednesday night and asked for prayer and help in doing something that they knew they must do.
