PERPETUAL ASSISTANCE
I recently preached a sermon in which I told the following story: There is an organization which never meets, has no officers, no formal charter or anything which would qualify it as an organization. It started one day when some anonymous person saw a car beside the road with the hood up suggesting trouble. That driver stopped, offered aid and was able to get the other started. When the stranded motorist offered to pay for the aid which had been given, the person who had rescued him said, “No, I can’t accept your money. Like the Good Samaritan, I offered the help because it was needed. If you want to, you can do the same. The next time you see someone in need, you can offer help.” Others who heard about this incident were also moved to aid people who were stranded along the roadside. Whenever they do so, they are responding to Jesus who told the story of the Good Samaritan…
