Sir Hubert Von Herkomer, the artist, persuaded his aging father to come and live with him. The father was also a sculptor. The father often spent his evenings modeling in clay. But his age and poor eyesight had taken away much of this ability. Oftentimes he would put away his work at night with a great deal of discouragement. He simply could not do what he wanted to do. After he went to bed, Sir Hubert would secretly work with the clay. In the morning his father would look at the clay.
