NO IMAGINARY FRIEND
Often small children have an imaginary friend. They talk to this unseen person by name. When my son Joshua was four years old, he had such a friend named “Camel.” One Sunday at our church “Camel” broke loose during the worship service and Joshua ran a lap around the sanctuary in hot pursuit of his imaginary friend. Such pretend friends help fill a small child’s need for companionship. Though we grow older, we never outgrow that inner longing for someone who can help meet life’s needs. We still search for the one who can touch our minds, hearts and spirits. The Bible tells us THAT SOMEONE can be found in Jesus.
