DRUMMING UP BUSINESS
Last week our fifteen-month-old inhaled some chewed-up crayon, blocking her left lung, and we spent the night in the hospital for its bronchoscopic removal. After reflecting for a few days on the contents of her hospital admittance package (free samples, etc.), our 5 year old son asked, “Mommy, why did they give Mary some more crayons after she just ate some?” If I’d been quicker I would have answered, “Just drumming up business…” By Sandi Ryland, Connecticut, from Help for Growing Families, Fenton, Missouri
