OPPORTUNITY
In his book, “Staying Ahead of Time”, Dennis E. Hensley tells a story of how opportunity- minded Henry Ford always was. One day a businessman was being given a tour of the executive offices of the Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. As the visitor passed one door, he saw a man seated at a desk with his feet propped up and his fingers laced behind his head. The man was doing nothing but day dreaming. When the tour was over, the visitor asked Henry Ford who the man was who just sat at his desk relaxing. “Oh, him?” said Ford. “That’s Harkinson. He once had an idea that saved my company a million dollars in production costs. I’m keeping him on salary so that if he ever gets another idea, I’ll have the opportunity to put it right into effect.” From Getting Through the Going Through Stage, Robert Schuller
