THE LOVE OF CHRISTMAS
Drink in the sweetness
Of the love of Christmas;
For in every heart,
The deep capacity for love
Is unveiled, for He is present.
He doesn’t vacate all the hearts
When Christmas is over,
And the capacity for love
Does not change.
After Christmas, He just depends
A little more on everyone.
From paupers to kings,
To be the Christ
Who inspires the love in hearts
To show itself
So drink in the sweetness
Of the love of Christmas
And hold it tight
Within your open heart,
Because the world will be hungry
And desperate and lonely
Until the love of Christmas
Is no longer held Captive
In the hearts of men,
But allowed to run free among them.
