GIVING YOUR LIFE BLOOD
John and Kay White, missionaries from the Philippine Islands, told this amazing story in the July, 1955, “Mission News”: One of our Tagalog pastors, who is really concerned about stewardship, recently participated in a modern parable. This pastor receives no regular salary from his church — only one or two pesos to buy food whenever he asks for it. He, therefore, cannot give of his money, but he has always unselfishly given of his time and talents whenever he could. Recently, he decided to give blood for a patient in the Orthopedic Hospital, because he heard that this person needed a blood transfusion, but could not afford it. As it turned out, the blood was not used, but stored for future use in an emergency. Not long after, he was summoned to this hospital where his little daughter had been taken as an emergency case.
