THERE GOES THE BEST MAN
We all have our favorite stories of wedding catastrophes. One of my favorites is the very first wedding I performed. We were half way through the ceremony, and I was amazed that all had gone without any problem at all. And then it happened. We were all solemnly listening to the organ play the Lord’s Prayer. I figured I would close my eyes and look extra-spiritual. I do think it gave a nice appearance with the exception of the thud. While closing my eyes, I felt like I was losing my balance. When I heard the thud, I was horrified with the thought, “Oh no, I’ve fallen over!” I opened my eyes and was relieved to find that I was still standing. The best man had fallen backward off of the stage and had landed like a board on the floor. While the groomsmen rushed to pick him up, I regained my composure, vowing I would never close…
