CITIZENS OF CHARACTER
Recently presidential hopeful, George W. Bush, was in the Silicon Valley speaking to a group of several hundred people, including the president of Oracle Corporation. While commenting on our nation’s current economic prosperity he said, “the success of America has never been proven by cities of gold but by citizens of character.” In the same way, the success of the church, the advancement of God’s kingdom on earth has never been proven by churches of great size and wealth but by Christians of character. “But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:15,16)
