COMMUNICATION GATES
Have you ever held a thought in your mind and wondered if you really should say it or not? Buddha had a wonderful test for this problem called the three gates to communication. Each gate has a guard which asks a question. Only speak after answering these questions. 1st gate: Is it true? 2nd gate: Is it necessary? 3rd gate: Is it kind? What problems would be eliminated – and prevented – if we asked these three questions each time before we spoke?
