SOFTLY AND GENTLY
He was the hired custodian of the congregation where I served as pastor. He was my teacher, a story-teller, a man of wisdom, soft-spoken, a worker — but most of all, I counted him as my gentle friend. His name was Junius, and I received more knowledge and insight about life from Junius than I have from many folks. I have paid tuition for less. Junius was what the Bible would call a wise man. His wisdom was not obvious, but then, wisdom doesn’t bellow and boast. Junius often shared slices of his life with me.
