SACRIFICED HER CHILD
A native missionary in India wrote the following letter: Each year millions of pilgrims flock to the banks of the Ganges River near Hardwar in north India to bathe in the holy waters with hopes of washing away their sins. Brother Varghese was passing out gospel tracts along the river’s edge when he suddenly noticed a woman who was sitting on the sand and weeping uncontrollably while beating her chest. He instantly knew something worse than death itself had happened to her. Moved with compassion, he walked over to her and asked about her troubles. Through her deep sobs, she told him, “My husband has been sick for months, my home is filled with problems, and my sins are so many.
