COMMUNICATION
As seven-year-old Sally stood in front of her parents who were lined up before a cash register in a supermarket, a midget-sized adult person crossed nearby. She overheard her mother tell her father in an audible whisper, “It’s the genes that make the difference.” A few days later in school some little boy asked the teacher who some people did not grow like everyone else and remained midgets. Before the teacher could answer, Sally, raising her hand and standing at the same time, proudly thought she knew the answer: “It’s because they wear tight blue pants.” Chaplain P. A.
