RESERVED SEATS IN HEAVEN
Leave it to children in their innocence to interpret the deeper considerations of the Christian faith. Hartley and Kristen are energetic three-year-olds who were born days apart. Their parents are close friends, attending the same congregation and are very involved in several ministries of their church. One day Kristen asked her mother when they were going to heaven. Mom told her that when Jesus said it was time, we will all go to heaven. “Mom, are you going to heaven too?” Kristen inquired. “Yes, Mommy will go too.” After a long silence, Kristen asked the most logical question any three-year-old could ask: “Can I sit by Hartley?” In a small world of innocence, this child articulated what friendship and fellowship is all about. No theologian ever said it better!
