JESUS KNOWS AND FEELS
Years ago a woman was in the hospital, dying of cancer. She was quite old while at the time I was somewhere in my mid-twenties. Nonetheless, I was her pastor. While there, I tried to sympathize with what she had to be feeling. As I was speaking, she stopped me rather abruptly and said, “what do you know about pain? You don’t have cancer. You don’t know what I feel.” Needless to say, I was somewhat taken back by her attitude and yet I was aware of her fear and her pain. To be honest, it was one of those moments when a person does not know what to say. Yet, by His unfailing grace, the Lord gave me a word for her. I said, “Mrs. Luden, you are right. I don’t know what you’re going through. But I am not here to tell you about me. I am here representing the Lord Jesus Christ. There isn’t a pain that…
