COURAGE
The courage of a 30-year-old construction worker recently saved the life of an Albuquerque youth. The story appeared in all of the cities major newspapers and news programs. The city had received a considerable amount of rains and the arroyos and drainage ditches were quickly filled with rushing torrents of water. For those of you not familiar with what we call an “arroyo” here in the southwest, it is a Spanish word for a dry river bed, which flows with an incredible amount of water after a heavy rainfall. They are capable of moving huge boulders for miles and rarely a year goes by that several people throughout the state do not drown in them.
