Here is a good definition of the church from the writings of Mark Buchanan, from British Columbia. He writes, “The specific challenge for me, a pastor in the evangelical tradition, is to lead a church to be what God intended it to be: A boot camp and hospital, homeland and outpost, Royal Priesthood and Holy Nation, sign and frontline of the Kingdom come.”
