A homeless man who attends our church was recently cited for Jay walking. He appear in the court and was given a twenty-five dollar fine. Since he had no money, he asked if he could do community service work instead. The judge agreed to this and sentenced him to eight hours of work at a non-profit organization. The man asked, “Can I do my work at a church?”The judge said, “I’m sorry, but religious organizations are not included. “Thinking it would make a difference, the man said, “But it’s the METHODIST CHURCH!”Apparently the judge was not a Methodist… A true story that occurred on December 8, 1994 at the Boulder County Courthouse
