WILL THE CHURCH CHANGE?
Lough: For years in our churches creative people have been ignored and accused of making unnecessary waves. What should be the Christian’s response to creative change? Hendricks: I think the key comes out of the Scriptural principle that you are to imitate your heavenly Father. You’ve got an infinite God who infinitely created you in His own image. So my question is, “How can you be so dull, so boring, so predictable?” And I believe that what is happening today is due to a lack of creativity. The church is really grinding to a halt in terms of impacting the culture. Here’s the most revolutionary force on earth set in concrete. And change is predictable. If I am being conformed to the image of Christ, then how much change do you think I can expect?
