ELECTRIC CHAIR COMFORT
Richmond, Virginia – Inmates sentenced to die in the state’s electric chair in the summer will get a degree of comfort in their last days thanks to an air conditioning overhaul of the State Penitentiary’s execution facilities. Installation of small cooling units in the execution holding cell and the room housing the electric chair began about a week ago and is nearly complete, a prison official said. “The air conditioning is not the result of any particular complaint.” From Lubbock Avalanche Journal, June 8, 1987, Lubbock, Texas
