JUST BEING TOGETHER
There is a sacredness in being old
In fair or stormy weather
Just dreaming of the days long past
And sweetness of being together
There’s sereneness in the evenings
As lights are softly lit;
We glory in past memories
As by the open fire we sit.
We smile and nod in comfort
With never a doubt or fear;
There’s love past understanding
With comfort of being near.
No need for words or music;
Thankful for gifts like this, Two hearts of understanding
In holy wedded bliss.
Sacred sweetness of two hearts
In fair or stormy weather
Sharing a lifetime harvest
And thankful of being together. Mamie ozburn odum, Ideals.
