A PLAN DEFICIENT FOR THE PRESENT
I found these two interesting quotes from the life of Barbara Jordan, prominent Black Congresswoman from the South, nationally known through her powerful keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in the 70’s: I do not recall joy related to my experience of these years at church [as a child, JSH]. What I got from them was a charter, a single plan offered to you that you must fulfill because that was the only acceptable way: Only one life, it will soon be past; Only what’s done for Christ will last. how to die, we got that.
