GIVE-AND- TAKE IN MARRIAGE
As a young girl in grammar school, I was sitting in class enjoying a flavorful piece of gum when my teacher walked up to me and said, “Well young lady, did you bring enough gum for the rest of the class?” Of course I hadn’t! I’d only had myself in mind when I stopped at the store on my way to school. And so it is with those of us who are marriage-minded. On the way to matrimony many of us only have ourselves in mind. How this state of being will make me happy. Complete me. Provide me with the stability, love, and validation I’ve been looking for. Give me the child I’ve been wanting to have.
