TEN REASONS FOR CHRISTIAN FUNERALS
1. The funeral is quickly becoming the modern answer to the family reunion. It is generally the only time all of the members of an extended family can and will get together. It gives children and grandchildren a chance to meet relatives that they may never have met. 2. The funeral process provides a sense of closure. It is a vivid testimony that the deceased is truly gone. 3. It provides people with a reminder that death really happens; in fact it happens to people that we know and love. Death happens to folks like you and me. 4. The funeral provides the church with an opportunity to speak to those who are unsaved. The funeral sermon may well be the only Gospel message that some people will ever hear. It can be an open door to an otherwise closed heart.
