REVEALING RESUMES
Kenneth Eskey of the Scripps Howard News Service recently interviewed Robert Half of Accountemps of Menlo Park, California. Robert Half has an unusual collection of strange information which was included in job resumes. Here are a few of them: “Note: Keep this resume on top of the stack; use all the others to heat your house.” “Frequent lecturer. Largest audience: 1,351. Standing ovations: 5. Number of audience questions: 30.” “…my experience in horticulture is well-rooted.” “I am relatively intelligent, obedient and as loyal as a puppy.” “…Typing speed: 756 words per minute.” “…Work history: performed brain wave tests, 1879 to 1991.” “…Excellent memory; strong math aptitude; excellent memory; effective management skills; and very good math.” “Personal goal: To hand-build a classic cottage from the ground up using my father-in-law.” “Speak Russian, Italian and Dutch like a kindergartner.” From “Resumes Get Laugh Instead of a Job” by Kenneth Eskey, Scripps Howard News Service
