I recently subscribed to a periodical called The Bible Newsletter published by the Evangelical Ministries, Inc. in Philadelphia. That’s the same crowd that publishes Eternity magazine. It is an eight-page monthly newsletter that specializes in stories specifically about the Bible. My first issue was dated Nov (Volume 1, Number 10). It had a lot of really good stuff in it. One article in particular deals with the recent rise in interest in storytelling. They tell about such events as the First Annual North Atlantic Festival of Storytelling, the First Storytelling Conference at Columbia University and the National Association for the Preservation and Perpetuation of Storytelling. Their article is filled with interesting quotes of some of the gurus of this new emphasis on storytelling.
