GOING TO THE RESURRECTION
A young evangelistic preacher came upon a farmer who was working in his field. The preacher, concerned about the farmer’s soul, asked the man: “Are you laboring in the vineyard of the Lord my friend?” The farmer, without even looking up answered, “Nope, these here are beans.” “No that’s not what I mean,” said the preacher. “Are you a Christian?” Still without paying much attention to the preacher, the farmer said, “My name is Jones. You must be lookin’ for Bill Christian. He lives down the road from here.” The determined preacher again asked, “Are you lost?” “Can’t be lost; I’ve lived here all my life,” answered the farmer. “What I mean is: Are you prepared for the resurrection?” the frustrated preacher rephrased.
