DOING WHAT THE SIGN SAYS
Along the North Scranton Expressway in Pennsylvania, the message on the 14 foot x 48 foot sign attached to the billboard was clear: “Bring in this ad and you’ll get a free pair of shoes.” So three people, who have to be the world’s most ambitions coupon clippers, decided to do just that. The three took down the sign from the expressway and contacted Shoestrings, the store that purchased the billboard, claiming their free shoes. “How can we prosecute?” said the store’s spokeswoman, “They did what we told them to do.” Shoestrings would pay for three pairs of shoes in exchange for the return of the sign she said.
