A LOOSE TRANSLATION
Sometimes, our words do not get accurately communicated to those around us. Take for example the recent words of Jorge Solari, the coach of the Saudi World Cup team. He spoke these words in Spanish, “I’m very happy with my boys; they played extremely well.” The Arabic translation given on Saudi television was this: “I have great pride in the courageous way our team played. I wish to dedicate this victory to the custodian of the two holy mosques, the King of Saudi Arabia, and to all the Saudi Arabian people.” Don’t be surprised when the world sees what it wants to see and hears what it wants to hear in matters of faith.
