SAY
“SORRY” AND MEAN IT Coming home for lunch, I found that my three year old daughter Jenny had been sent to her room for disobedience. My wife had explained to her that she could come out of her room if she would say “Sorry.” My wife talked to her and I talked to her, explaining that it is important to say “Sorry” when you do something wrong. Still, Jenny refused to say “Sorry,” so in her room she stayed. A few moments later I overheard our six year old son Ben go into Jenny’s room and say, “Jenny, all you have to do is say you’re sorry. You don’t have to mean it.” True repentance to God is saying “Sorry” – sorry enough to mean it and sorry enough to quit our disobedience. Let’s not just speak with our lips, but with our hearts!
