GAMBLING, GREED, REPENTANCE: THE REPENTANT GAMBLER
A deacon in my church approached me one Sunday Evening and confessed that he had won about $50.00 from a football pool. He explained that on his sales calls he regularly would be asked to contribute to the football pool and this time he happened to win. He wanted to know what he should do about this windfall. Slightly amused at his contriteness, I sternly told him he should put it in the offering plate. He compliantly did so! I wonder if I should pray that he wins the lottery…(Michael)
