LITTLE OMISSIONS
I had an embarrassing thing happen the other day. My car started stalling every time I came to a stop. I took the car into the shop to have it checked out. After a few hours and about eighty dollars, the mechanic had discovered and repaired the problem. The battery had to be charged because it had run so low from having to start the car every two minutes and a sticking valve had to be fixed due to the fact that there was no air filter. This seemed a puzzle to me because I couldn’t imagine anyone’s stealing my used air filter. I racked my brain and remembered that I was the culprit. I had removed the filter to change it, bought the wrong size, and then forgot to go back to get the right five dollar filter. Failing to take care of something so simple left my wallet eighty dollars lighter. How often in life do we wittingly or unwittingly…
